Rick Grubaugh, owner and auctioneer, learned the auction business from his father, who was an auctioneer for over 40 years and has literally grown up working auctions. He taught himself the auction call and began auctioneering while in junior high. He put himself through school by working auctions and after graduating from UNL, then began teaching and coaching football, track and basketball. Rick later added Athletic Director and Development Director to his duties while at Columbus Scotus High School - all of the while, conducting auctions on weekends. Rick came back to his family business and became a full time realtor and auctioneer 15 years ago. He has over 45 years of auction experience and has conducted hundreds of auctions ranging from small estate auctions up to multi-million dollar specialty auctions. Annually, he is also involved in many fundraisers and has successfully raised hundreds of thousands of dollars at these events.
